Heart of Tamworth

This site in the city of Tamworth presents a key opportunity to act as a vibrant hub of the CBD. The site connects three key streets and gives back to the public in a variety of ways. This design was all about the in-between space: laneways and courtyards filled with human-scale moments and lush greenery to soften the buildings’ edge and create intention within the ‘gaps’.

Tamworth is a car centric city and a large part of this project was about giving back public space to pedestrians and cyclists.

  • This safe pedestrian link has provision for market stalls and draws pedestrian through to the river.

  • This green slice seperates the student housing & office tower- privacy in planting form.

  • Internal facing student housing provides moments of incidental interaction & fosters a sense of community.
